Don’t Be Scammed – Ignore the Apple ID Has Been Locked Email

Here is another example of scammers trying to prey on the folks least expecting it. This time, it is the beloved and dedicated Apple users.

An Apple ID is an important piece of authentication when it comes to apple products. It is used on your Macbook Air, your ipod’s your Apple iPhones, access to the App Store and iTunes Store and more. Its what connects you to the Apple cloud.

So when a letter comes through, like this one which actually made it through spam filters, stating your Apple ID is locked and you have to visit the link to unlock you quickly, you might just do that without thinking twice.

But before you do, always call or visit the Apple’s site by manually typing in the Apple’s website (https://www.apple.com/).

So our clients have been receiving these in the mail. Your probably thinking, wait how does this relate to website stuff? Well plenty, considering over 50% of the users searching the web and visiting websites is all done on those smartphones. And 1/2 of those smart phones are some type of iPhone.

So we want to provide this information to protect you, whether you are a client of ours or not for your reference. Here is the word for word mailing that you may receive. Hoping you are finding this from searching, ultimately protecting yourself from this spam company.

The actual letter text:

Your Apple ID has been Locked

Hello, After reviewing your Apple account, we’ve noted several concerns with your recent activity. As a result, we’ve taken the following action on your account:

-Your account has been locked

We’ve taken this percatuion to protect our members whiel we make sure that the activity doesn’t cause harm –however unintentionally – to the Apple community. While locked, you won’t be able to use the App Store and iTunes store. If you would like to appeal this action, we need to verify your account information and your ID activity directly with you. <Visit Apple Support>

(actual URL is https:<BREAK LINK>//vk.com/away.php?to=https%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FZjiNSNe4Tn?youtu.be)

I did some discovery work, and checked this out in more detail. If you hover over the hyperlink they sent you that states “Visit Apple Support”, you will see its taking you to a link that just spells trouble (vk.com/away.php?to=https%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2FZjiNSNe4Tn?youtu.be).

Their website is a fake sight that is going to ask you for credentials and other personal items. With that info, they will actually be able to take over your account, and use it for no good of course.

And just a side note, please keep your browsers like Chrome and Firefox up-to-date as they will sometimes warn you just like Chrome did when I clicked on the link in that email for testing.  I received this nice warning message.

If you have any questions or have received other deceptive letters, let us know by contacting us. We will be happy to post them to give warning to consumers.

Let us know if you have been receiving these (or similar ones) in the comments below.

  1. I already take Vitamin D3 & K2 from Nutravita and have done for some time.
I believe they’re an excellent supplement, as I am generally
clear of ailments and I hope to help keep it that way with continued use.

I bought a jar of Nutravita’s Vitamins and Minerals as these were an excellent price for a year’s supply and
I have started to use them as an inclusion to the D3 and K2, which Natalie at
Nutravita confirmed was fine to do. As said before,
I’m lucky that I’m without any ailments, which I do believe is down to me taking Nutravita products to help
keep me healthy, hopefully the Vitamins and Minerals will support my continued good health.
